I Wicked Leather sono nati a fine 2023, quando la cantante Yami, decise che era giunto il momento di creare una nuova band old school metal. Siamo i Wicked Leather, una band heavy metal nata per mantenere viva e ruggente la fiamma del genere. Combiniamo l’energia grezza del metal old-school con il nostro lato oscuro. Attualmente fate parte o avete fatto parte di altre band?
Alcuni di noi hanno percorso strade diverse nella scena metal, suonando in altre band, come Emissary, Estertor, Onirophagus, ma i Wicked Leather sono dove tutto si unisce. Questa band non è solo un altro progetto, è il nostro stile di vita. Tutto ciò che abbiamo imparato e vissuto ci ha condotto qui, ed è qui che riversiamo tutto il nostro fuoco.
Quali sono le vostre influenze?
Le nostre influenze sono i titani dell’heavy metal Savatage, Angel Witch, Tank, Chastain, Diamond Head, mescolati all’amore per l’horror, la mitologia e tutto ciò che si nasconde nell’ombra. Abbiamo preso ciò che ci hanno insegnato su potenza e melodia e ci abbiamo aggiunto il nostro tocco personale.
La vostra musica è old school. Perché avete scelto questi suoni per esprimervi artisticamente?
L’heavy metal old school ha un’energia senza tempo che è impossibile ignorare. È crudo, viscerale e parla direttamente all’anima. Abbiamo scelto questo suono perché è il modo più puro per esprimere la nostra visione, senza filtri, senza compromessi, solo pura potenza e passione.
Dal 30 novembre, la Jawbreaker Records ha pubblicato “Echoes of the Storm”, un doppio singolo che include “Night Hunter” e “Lightning Strike”. Perché avete scelto di intitolare questa uscita “Echoes of the Storm” e non “Night Hunter” o “Lightning Strike”?
Il titolo ha un significato particolare?
“Echoes of the Storm” cattura l’essenza di entrambe le tracce: è il suono del caos e del potere che risuona dopo l’impatto iniziale. Il titolo riflette l’energia elettrica e tempestosa che lega insieme entrambe le canzoni, come una chiamata dall’oscurità che persiste a lungo dopo che il fulmine si è spento. Non si tratta di una canzone rispetto all’altra; si tratta dell’atmosfera che creano insieme.
Potresti descrivere la prima canzone, “Night Hunter”?
“Night Hunter” è un viaggio nell’ombra, una ricerca incessante attraverso l’oscurità dove paura e coraggio si scontrano. È guidata da riff taglienti e melodie ossessionanti, catturando quella tensione tra predatore e preda. Dal punto di vista dei testi, è intrisa di temi di mistero, pericolo e ignoto, con solo un tocco di orrore per farti guardare alle spalle.
Cosa puoi dirmi di “Lightning Strike”?
“Lightning Strike” è energia pura: un’esplosione di vita e morte che si scontrano in una tempesta di suoni. Riguarda la dualità: creazione e distruzione, luce e oscurità e la sottile linea che le collega. Musicalmente, è veloce, potente e ti colpisce come un’onda d’urto, con testi che abbracciano il caos e la bellezza dell’esistenza.
Avete altre canzoni in cantiere?
Assolutamente. “Echoes of the Storm” è solo l’inizio. Abbiamo altre canzoni in fermento che scavano più a fondo nel nostro sound e nei nostri temi. Ognuna è realizzata con la stessa intensità e cura e non vediamo l’ora di lasciarle andare. La tempesta è appena iniziata.

We’re Wicked Leather, a heavy metal band born to keep the flame of the genre alive and roaring. We combine the raw energy of old-school metal with our own dark edge. Our music is fierce, unapologetic, and rooted in the power of storytelling. If you crave sharp riffs, pounding rhythms, and a bit of the sinister, you’re in the right place.
Are you currently, or have you been, in other bands?
Some of us have walked different roads in the metal scene , playing in other bands, like Emissary, Estertor, Onirophagus but Wicked Leather is where it all comes together. This band isn’t just another project — it’s our way of life. Everything we’ve learned and lived has led us here, and this is where we’re pouring all our fire.
What are your influences?
Our influences are the titans of heavy metal Savatage, Angel Witch , Tank , Chastain , Diamond Head —mixed with a love for horror, mythology, and everything that lurks in the shadows. We’ve taken what they taught us about power and melody and added our own bite to it.
Your music is old school. Why did you choose these sounds to express yourselves artistically?
Old-school heavy metal has a timeless energy that’s impossible to ignore. It’s raw, it’s visceral, and it speaks directly to the soul. We chose this sound because it’s the purest way to express our vision—unfiltered, no compromises, just pure power and passion.
Since November 30th, Jawbreaker Records has released “Echoes of the Storm”, a double-single including “Night Hunter” and “Lightning Strike.” Why did you choose to title this release “Echoes of the Storm” and not “Night Hunter” or “Lightning Strike”? Does the title have a particular meaning?
“Echoes of the Storm” captures the essence of both tracks—it’s the sound of chaos and power resonating after the initial impact. The title reflects the stormy, electric energy that ties both songs together, like a call from the darkness that lingers long after the lightning fades. It’s not about one song over the other; it’s about the atmosphere they create together.
Could you describe the first song, “Night Hunter”?
“Night Hunter” is a journey into the shadows—a relentless pursuit through the darkness where fear and courage collide. It’s driven by sharp riffs and haunting melodies, capturing that tension between predator and prey. Lyrically, it’s steeped in themes of mystery, danger, and the unknown, with just a touch of horror to keep you looking over your shoulder.
What can you tell me about “Lightning Strike”?
“Lightning Strike” is pure energy—an explosive burst of life and death clashing in a storm of sound. It’s about duality: creation and destruction, light and darkness, and the fine line that connects them. Musically, it’s fast, powerful, and hits you like a shockwave, with lyrics that embrace the chaos and beauty of existence.
Do you have other songs in the pipeline?
Absolutely. “Echoes of the Storm” is just the beginning. We’ve got more songs brewing that dig deeper into our sound and themes. Each one is crafted with the same intensity and care, and we can’t wait to unleash them. The storm has only just begun.
