🎙️ Quick Five – Flash Interview è la rubrica video de Il Raglio Del Mulo pensata per dare spazio e visibilità agli artisti attraverso cinque domande veloci, dirette e spontanee. Ogni intervista è un breve viaggio nell’universo creativo dei musicisti, per scoprirli in modo autentico e immediato.
Con il nuovo EP “Between Blood And Silence”, i Mangled Carpenter tornano ad addentrarsi nei territori più oscuri dell’estreme metal contemporaneo, ampliando ulteriormente la visione sviluppata con “Salvation Syndrome” del 2023. Tra death metal, grindcore e atmosfere opprimenti, la band costruisce un’opera che privilegia tanto la brutalità quanto la profondità emotiva e narrativa.
Guidato da Seth Metoyer, affiancato da Kris Olson e Mac Hine, il progetto evolve verso sonorità più cupe e ragionate, nelle quali groove, tensione atmosferica e un sottile elemento meccanico si fondono con l’aggressività tipica della formazione. L’esperienza maturata da Metoyer in realtà come Pulpit Vomit e nei suoi lavori solisti contribuisce a plasmare una scrittura capace di superare i confini convenzionali del metal estremo.
Le sei tracce dell’EP affrontano temi di giudizio, violenza, conflitto spirituale e ricerca della speranza nei luoghi più desolati dell’esistenza. La title track apre il lavoro con un impatto metodico e implacabile, mentre “Carved” accentua il peso del groove e della tensione. Il singolo “The Absence Of Light” riporta l’ascoltatore verso un assalto frontale fatto di blast beat e abrasioni sonore, prima di lasciare spazio all’intensità di “Down, Down, To Goblin Town”, uno dei momenti più rappresentativi dell’intero disco.
La reinterpretazione di “Terminate Damnation” dei Mortification rende omaggio a un classico dell’extreme metal cristiano attraverso una lente più feroce e contemporanea, mentre “Short, Sharp, Shock” chiude l’EP con una scarica compatta e devastante, senza concedere tregua né compromessi.
Oscuro, opprimente e devastante, “Between Blood And Silence” conferma la volontà dei Mangled Carpenter di affinare continuamente la propria identità artistica senza rinunciare alla forza distruttiva che li contraddistingue.

With their new EP “Between Blood And Silence”, Mangled Carpenter venture even deeper into the darkest territories of contemporary extreme metal, expanding upon the vision established with their 2023 release “Salvation Syndrome”. Blending death metal, grindcore, and oppressive atmospheres, the band delivers a work where brutality and emotional depth coexist with equal intensity.
Led by Seth Metoyer, alongside Kris Olson and Mac Hine, the project moves toward darker and more deliberate compositions, where groove, atmosphere, and a subtle mechanized edge reinforce the band’s relentless aggression. Metoyer’s experience across projects such as Pulpit Vomit and his solo work provides additional creative depth, allowing the music to transcend conventional boundaries within extreme metal.
The EP’s six tracks explore themes of judgment, violence, spiritual conflict, and the search for hope amid desolation and darkness.
